March 4, 2010 - US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Bureau, Karl Wycoff, visited Ethiopia on Thusday and held discussions with PM Meles Zenawi, reports ENA.
The two parties also shared ideas on the current crisis in Somalia, Darfur region, and on other regional and international issues of common interest, according to a senior government official who attended the discussion.
Meles reaffirmed to Wycoff that Ethiopia, as a neighboring country, will continue supporting efforts geared toward ensuring a lasting peace and stability in Somalia and in Darfur, the Sudan. Meles also indicated that Ethiopia is working hard to make the May 2010 elections free and fair.
Wycoff told journalists that he shared valuable ideas with the premier on Ethio-US cooperation as well as on regional and international issues of mutual interest, according to ENA.
