How to Get Interviews:

Many job seekers in Ethiopia get frustrated because they apply to many places, but never get called for interviews. This is happening to many job seekers applying for various jobs in Ethiopia through job portals such Ezega Jobs, EmployEthiopia, EthioJobs, Mjobs, etc. In many cases, the reasons are simple and common.

Regardless of whether you are applying from mjobs or employethiopia or any other, the hiring manager normally gets many resumes to review. The number one question in the mind of the hiring manager is who among the many applicants can best handle the job at hand. The only way to tell prior to interviews is through resumes and cover letters. The hiring manager would normally look for someone who has done something similar or at least one who showed interest in the work being advertised. If your cover letter so generic (the same for all jobs), you will be talking about something else not related to the job you are applying - which means, in the eye of the hiring manager, you are not suitable for the job you are applying. So, it is extremely important that you edit the cover letter for each job you are applying to show interest in the job, and to mention something related that you have done or studied in the past. The main point is that you are conveying a message to the hiring manager that you understand what the job needs and you have done or studied something related to the job you are applying.

You may also edit you resume for each job you are applying to highlight any study or work you have done that is a requirement for the job. On behalf of our client, we are looking for a successful candidate to fill the position of Branch Supervisor, located in Addis Ababa.
Scope and General Purpose:

The branch supervisor supports the branch manager by overseeing the efficient operation of the branch to ensure all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the staff while conveying a feeling of trust, service, security, and satisfaction to customers and staff. The branch supervisor act in the role of a branch manager in the manager’s absence.

Supervise and Train Employees
1. Along with the branch manager, involved in the day-to-day supervision of employees. including scheduling, conflict resolution, and disciplining.
2. Ensuring that employees complete training and professional development programs.
3. Providing or organizing training and development
4. Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
5. Dealing with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews
6. Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent issues
Deliver Customer Service
7. Be the first managerial individual to interact with a customer.
8. Work to resolve customer complaints, address customer concerns and explain company or branch policies.
9. Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and safety are met
10. Touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers and identifying or resolving urgent issues
11. Dealing with sales, as and when required.
Handle Branch Routine Operations and Periodic Initiatives

12. Ensures the branch is opened and closed on a timely basis.
13. Ensure the daily opening and closing procedures strictly adhere
14. Enforces strict control procedures at all times.
15. Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
16. Places requests, receives materials after checking their quality, quantity, unit, etc against the relevant document.
17. Prepare and sends immediately receiving reports (GRN) to the concerned office
18. Reports undelivered, damaged, and short-landed goods to his immediate boss
19. To ensure that all issues are made against sales and that no items leave the salesroom without the appropriate documentation or signature.
20. Prepares and compiles daily and periodic sales reports and maintains sales account
21. Check and verifies collection of sales funds against the sales
22. Analyzing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning
23. Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues
24. Organizing special promotions, displays, and events
25. Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what competitors are doing
26. Initiating changes to improve the business,
Stand-in for Manager

27. The supervisor will be familiar with all aspects of a manager’s job and be ready to assume that role in a manager’s absence. This would include completing reports that would be submitted to the manager upon his/her return.

Bachelor's degree from university or equivalent work experience

Previous management or supervisory experience preferred

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a full-service financial institution or other retail customer service profession

Ability to speak and write clearly and effectively to achieve the desired effect in a variety of communications settings and styles; ability to prepare and maintain confidential records and reports

Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers, use feedback for continuous improvement and develop and maintain effective relationships

Willingness to attend training seminars and meetings outside normal working hours

Must have a proactive and positive attitude and excellent communication skills toward customers, supervisors, co-workers, and the company

Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously and work with limited supervision, exercising own initiative and judgment
