How to Get Interviews:

Many job seekers in Ethiopia get frustrated because they apply to many places, but never get called for interviews. This is happening to many job seekers applying for various jobs in Ethiopia through job portals such Ezega Jobs, EmployEthiopia, EthioJobs, Mjobs, etc. In many cases, the reasons are simple and common.

Regardless of whether you are applying from mjobs or employethiopia or any other, the hiring manager normally gets many resumes to review. The number one question in the mind of the hiring manager is who among the many applicants can best handle the job at hand. The only way to tell prior to interviews is through resumes and cover letters. The hiring manager would normally look for someone who has done something similar or at least one who showed interest in the work being advertised. If your cover letter so generic (the same for all jobs), you will be talking about something else not related to the job you are applying - which means, in the eye of the hiring manager, you are not suitable for the job you are applying. So, it is extremely important that you edit the cover letter for each job you are applying to show interest in the job, and to mention something related that you have done or studied in the past. The main point is that you are conveying a message to the hiring manager that you understand what the job needs and you have done or studied something related to the job you are applying.

If you ignore any requests or questions like these that the job post requests, it means you are not giving any attention to details of the job application requirements, and the chances of you getting called for interview becomes very low.

Progress Integrated Community Development Organization is an NGO based in Addis Ababa, would like to hire a qualified and well-experienced employee in the Position of Programs Manager

The Programs Manager must possess knowledge in key areas of management, from setting and implementing strategies to fundraising, and must understand the value of planning strategically and monitoring and evaluating outcomes with an eye on concrete objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Represent or ensure appropriate representation of the organization in all related forums.
• Develop and maintain close relationships with donors and counterparts.
• Fundraising
• Participate in the development of cohesive, focussed, and effective program proposals.
• Identify fundraising strategies that benefit and complement the mission and vision of the organization.

Program Management
• Ensure effective project management and implementation for all projects.
• Regularly monitor and review project activities to ensure quality, contractual compliance, and timely reporting.
• Together with the Grant/Finance Manager, ensure responsibility for project expenditure, financial accountability, and planning requirements, and provide a high level of support to these activities.
• Development and implementation of a framework for monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
• Development of stakeholder relationships and establishment of sharing and learning mechanisms.
• Management and capacity development of project staff and co-partners
• Preparation of donor and government reports
• Oversight of all project activities
• Active participation in all consortium meetings and workshops

Administration and Human Resources Management
• Promote an open, diverse and participatory work environment.
• Provide direction, guidance, assistance, and support to Project Coordinators as appropriate to carry out their responsibilities, and ensure they receive adequate professional guidance and development opportunities.
• Create a work environment that provides an opportunity for capacity development of staff
• Support the Executive Director in the management of the overall organizational operations and administration.

Safety and Security
• Promote a safe and secure work environment, foster a safety and security culture, and ensure consistent application of and compliance with organizational safety and security policies and procedures.
