August 16, 2018 - Various Ethiopian political parties held meeting in Addis Ababa to discuss reconciliation and building democracy in Ethiopia, according to FBC report.
The meeting included 50 political parties, including six that returned home recently. It also included academics, representatives of religious institutions and civil society organizations.
Issues discussed were the ongoing reforms initiated by Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed, including the removal of OLF, Ginbot 7 and ONLF from terror list, Ethio-Eritrea peace, and the reconciliation of two Ethiopian Orthodox church synods.
Paticipants noted all political parties are required to take active part in addressing various problems and to move the country forward in reforms.
The parties also blamed failure in leadership for the conflicts in different parts of the country, saying that our leaders are the main sources of the conflicts in their respective areas.
