ADDIS ABABA (AFP) — Ethiopian athletics superstars, Tirunesh Dibaba and Sileshi Sihine on Thursday announced that they will tie the knot in a gala ceremony here later this month.
The ceremony which has been dubbed as "The wedding of the Millennium" by the organisers, will be held on October 26.
The pair have been seeing each other for the last few years.
The 23-year-old Tirunesh, also known as "the baby-faced assassin", won gold in both the 5,000m and 10,000m at the Beijing Olympics last August, while Sileshi finished second behind compatriot Kenenisa Bekele in the 10,000m race.
Ethiopia, one of the world's poorest countries, finished 18th in the medals table with four gold, one silver and two bronze.
