Speaking to the Media, Taye who is the spokesperson of the ruling Prosperity Party said the robbery occurred when he was having lunch at Bin International Hotel while his car was parked in the hotel.
Taye claimed the alleged robbers opened the car with master key and stole the stated-sum of money and other properties.
According to the senior official, the stolen money was supposed to be paid as per diem for government officials who were attending training on the guiding principle of the prosperity party in Bishoftu city.

In another news, the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) requested justification from the Immigration Nationality And Vital Events Agency over the nationality issue of Jawar Mohammed, an Oromo activist and executive member Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC).
NEBE’s request comes after it received a letter from the Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC) stating that Jawar Mohammed is an Ethiopian by nationality based on the Ethiopian Proclamation no 378/2003 article 22.
The Ethiopian Electoral Law states that a non-Ethiopian cannot be a member of a political party or involve directly in the country’s political activities. The Ethiopian electoral law also states that a non-Ethiopian cannot elect and be elected.
“There is no law that prohibits Jawar Mohammed from being an Ethiopian citizen. Hence, he is an Ethiopian,” OFC said in a letter it sent to NEBE.
NEBE Communications Head Soliyan Shimeles said the board will give a final ruling over the nationality issue of Jawar Mohammed shortly after it received confirmation from the Immigration Nationality and Vital Events Agency until February 18, 2020.
