Ethiopian Agency Privatizes 15 Public Enterprises  

Ghion HotelJune 4, 2010 – Ethiopia's Privatization and Public Enterprises Supervising Agency (PPESA) sold 15 public enterprises worth 650 million birr in the first nine months of this budget year, reports WIC. 

 Agency Corporate communication Director, Wondafrash Assefa, told WIC today the privatized enterprises include Misrak Flour and Bread Factory, Kaliti Food Share Company, Dire Dawa Textile Factory and Ethio-Japan Textile Share Company. He said Roha Ghion Hotel, National Hotel, Ethiopia Tannery Share Company, Nefas Silk Paints Factory and Addis Ababa Bottle and Glass Share Company were also privatized in the reported period.   He said the agency privatized majority of the enterprises to Ethiopian investors. Activities are also underway to privatize six enterprises soon. The agency has so far privatized close to 270 public enterprises, it was learnt.
